Frequently Asked Questions

How much do counseling sessions cost?

It’s free! (Because you are a missionary and we love you.)

How long do appointments usually take?

Appointments are around 45 minutes.

What should I do if I can't speak with a counselor right away?

If you would like to speak to a counselor after-hours, we suggest going to the medical clinic, contacting your Branch President or other ecclesiastical leaders, or going to the Information Desk in S1. They have a flyer available with calming technique you can practice until making an appointment the next day. If it is an emergency, please contact the Information Desk in S1.

Adjusting to Missionary Life (pdf) is also an excellent resource offered on the Gospel Library app under the "Missionary Training" section.

Can I miss class for my appointment?

Yes, you will most likely need to miss part of your class for your appointment.  Teachers support missionaries taking care of their mental health.  Your companion can either come to the appointment with you and sit in our lobby, or they can bring another companionship with them and drop you off and pick you up after your appointment.
